Canva for Employment Workshop Launching This May

Blackwater Training is delighted to announce the launch of our Canva for Employment Workshop, funded through the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration Integration Fund. This new programme is designed to support individuals in our community to build practical digital skills that can directly support access to employment and further opportunities.

Digital skills are now essential across almost every sector. From creating a professional CV to designing presentations or promotional materials, being able to confidently use tools like Canva can make a real difference when applying for jobs or progressing in the workplace. This workshop has been developed to respond to that need in a practical and accessible way.

The course will run over four weeks, starting on Wednesday, 6th May 2026, and will support a small group of participants to develop their skills step by step. Through guided sessions, participants will learn how to create high-quality CVs, design visual content, and present information in a clear and professional way. The focus is on real-world application, ensuring that every participant leaves with materials they can immediately use.

To ensure quality and support, the workshop is limited to 12 participants. We want to create a supportive learning environment where everyone has the opportunity to engage, practice, and build confidence at their own pace.

As part of our commitment to inclusion, participant supports are available, helping to remove barriers to participation and ensuring that those who need this training most can access it.

This workshop forms part of Blackwater Training's wider work supporting integration, employability, and skills development within our community. We continue to design programmes that are practical, responsive, and focused on real outcomes for participants.
