Speak Up - Participants Wanted

Youth Exchange in Spain – 13–21 December 2025

Blackwater Training is inviting young people from Ireland to take part in Speak Up, an Erasmus+ youth exchange in Rascafría, Madrid (Spain). This exciting international project will bring together participants from across Europe to explore tolerance, non-violent communication, and creative ways to stand up against hate speech.

When and Where

Dates: 13–21 December 2025
Location: Rascafría, Madrid – a beautiful mountain village surrounded by nature
Venue: Albergue Los Batanes Youth Hostel

About the Project

Through workshops, discussions, and creative activities, participants will:

  • Learn how to recognise and challenge hate speech.

  • Explore values of empathy, respect, and non-violent communication.

  • Build friendships with young people from across Europe.

  • Take part in fun group activities including intercultural nights, hiking, and team-building sessions.

Who Can Apply

We're looking for 5 young participants (aged 18–30) and 1 group leader who:

  • Are living in Ireland.

  • Are open-minded, motivated, and curious about human rights and inclusion.

  • Are available for the full duration of the exchange.

  • Hold a valid European Health Insurance Card (or equivalent).

Costs and Travel

  • Participation fee: €4 (to cover the transfer charge as required by Erasmus+).

  • Travel reimbursement: Up to €279 (after the exchange, once tickets and invoices are submitted).

  • Accommodation, meals, and activities are fully covered by Erasmus+ funding.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable clothing (including sportswear for hiking).

  • A reusable water bottle and towel.

  • Traditional food or snacks from Ireland for the intercultural evening.
