NextGen Opportunity: Building a Stronger Future for Young People Across Europe

11/11/2025

We're delighted to announce the launch of NextGen Opportunity, a new European Youth Together (EYT) project co-funded by the European Union. This ambitious two-year initiative (01.11.2025 – 31.10.2027) brings together organisations from six European countries, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Romania, Serbia, and the Czech Republic, to tackle one of Europe's most pressing challenges: youth unemployment.

A Collaborative Effort for Change

The project is led by KOM 018 - Club for Youth Empowerment 018, Serbia, and delivered in partnership with:

  • The Nordic Crew, Denmark

  • Regional Development Agency South (RDA "Jug"), Serbia

  • Beyond Borders Italy, Italy

  • Blackwater Training, Ireland

  • Youth Progress, Czech Republic

  • Asociatia Tineret pentru Dezvoltare Durabila (ATDD), Romania.

Together, our partners share a common vision which is to create sustainable, inclusive pathways to employment for young people, especially those facing barriers such as social exclusion, rural isolation, or lack of access to training and mentoring.

Our Mission

NextGen Opportunity is a movement to reimagine youth employment systems in Europe.

The main goals of our project includes:

  • Mapping the youth employment landscape and identifying key support gaps across partner countries

  • Launching NextGen: Entrepreneurship & Employment Clinics to provide hands-on, practical support for jobseekers and aspiring young entrepreneurs

  • Promoting self-employment and entrepreneurial mindsets as viable, empowering career paths

  • Engaging policymakers and stakeholders to influence long-term, systemic change in employment policies

  • Empowering young people through mentorship, skills development, job placement support, and advocacy

Real Support, Real Impact

Through a combination of research, mentoring, training, and advocacy, NextGen Opportunity will:

  • Connect young people with real work and learning opportunities

  • Equip them with the skills needed for the future labour market

  • Build bridges between youth, employers, educators, and decision-makers

By combining practical support with policy engagement, the project aims to create lasting impact that goes beyond its duration with the hopes of shaping fairer, more inclusive systems that truly meet young people's needs.

Join Us on the Journey

At Blackwater Training, we're proud to represent Ireland in this forward-thinking European partnership. We believe in the potential of every young person and the importance of creating environments where they can learn, work, and thrive.
