Celebrating Community and Culture - Our Integration Evening in Mullagh

30/11/2025

On Thursday 21 November 2025, Blackwater Training was delighted to host a Community Integration Evening in the beautiful St. Kilian's Heritage Centre, Mullagh. The event brought people from across the local area together to celebrate culture, creativity, and the shared sense of belonging that makes our community so special.

The evening showcased the incredible work our learners have been doing through the Future Voices project – a programme that supports migrants in Ireland and Spain to build language skills, confidence, and creative expression. Over recent months, participants have been working on digital storytelling, music, and performance pieces, and this event was the perfect opportunity for them to share their achievements with the community.

Guests enjoyed a vibrant mix of singing, dancing, short videos, and personal stories created by the learners themselves. Many of the performances drew on their own cultural backgrounds and life experiences, creating a powerful atmosphere of connection and understanding in the room.

More than anything, the evening reminded us of the value of bringing people together. Events like this play an important role in supporting integration, celebrating diversity, and helping newcomers and long-term residents alike feel at home. By sharing music, stories, and creativity, we strengthen the bonds that make communities welcoming and inclusive.

A sincere thank you to everyone who took part, supported, or attended and also to Leargas for their support on our Future Voices programme.

We look forward to hosting more events that celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures living in our region and continue to build a strong sense of community for all.
