Are you passionate about music, storytelling, or the power of sound to move people?

Blackwater Training is thrilled to invite Irish participants aged 20 - 30 to join "The Sound Atlas: Sonic Storytelling," a transformative 10-day Erasmus+ project taking place from 1st–10th August 2025 in the peaceful village of KamieΕ„, Poland.

πŸ”Š What Is This Project About?

This unique international training is not your typical workshop. It's an immersive, creative exploration of how sound, rhythm, and music can be used to tell stories and express emotions - without relying on words or visuals.

Participants will:

  • Create and record a library of original sounds

  • Explore improvisation, physical theatre, and movement

  • Collaborate in mixed international teams

  • Learn how to use ambient sounds to evoke emotions and narratives

  • Gain practical skills in a recording studio

The programme encourages stepping outside your comfort zone, deep listening, and playful creativity. Think: storytelling through tones, rhythms, and the sounds of nature.

🌿 What Makes It Special?

  • Set in a rural Polish village surrounded by nature

  • Phone-free and alcohol-free zone for deep focus and connection

  • Fully vegetarian/vegan meals

  • A genuine digital detox

  • Participants sleep in shared rooms (4–5 per room) at a scenic retreat centre

🧳 Who Can Apply?

We're looking for 4 participants who are:

  • 20 - 30 years old 

  • Connected to music - either professionally or personally

  • Open-minded, flexible, and curious

  • Comfortable with teamwork and light physical movement

  • Able to communicate in English

Whether you're a musician, sound artist, performer, or simply passionate about creative expression, this project is for you.

This project is funded by Erasmus+, meaning:

  • Accommodation, meals, and training are 100% covered

  • Travel costs are reimbursed up to €309 (from Ireland to Poland)

  • We support green travel options (non-flight)
